Shalom Mispocha,
During this Winter Season, we have seen G-d work in mighty ways. A lot has happened, and in this season many of us have already begun to reflect on the year 2023 as we prepare for 2024. In this time, we look to re-dedicate our lives to live a full life for the better. I ask the question, how can you live a life for the better? Though we are not perfect, He has given us the way to Salvation to those who believe in Him! Yes, this Chanukkah, we see believers in HaShem Eloheinu (The L-rd our G-d), gather to remember a moment in time when a man known as Judah "the hammer" stood in faith that G-d would help our people to take back the promise given to them. Time and time again through scripture we read of those that stood in such faith - Caleb, David, Deborah and etc. These men and women of renown stood to the test of their faith, and the result was the promise of G-d extended to them for generations to come. What is even more incredible is the dedication of G-d to His people. During this time of Dedication, G-d dedicated Himself to us!
Yes, G-d gives His life to us. He said, "Call unto Me and I will answer". David reminds us that those who "call on the Name of the L-rd shall be saved", and in the prayers of the fathers and mothers... "G-d answers" us! Everytime I read the Scripture I see His dedication and how He dedicated us to Himself! We are unique and for His glory! John 1:4-5, 9-13 goes even deeper to say:
"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it... The true light, coming into the world, gives light to every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him; but the world did not know Him. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him. But whoever did receive Him, those trusting in His name, to these He gave the right to become children of God. They were born not of a bloodline, nor of human desire, nor of man’s will, but of God."
You see you were made for a greater purpose, you were made of G-d to be His Child by faith in Him alone. It is through this trust, that the promise can take it's course. Are you dedicated to the will of G-d? Today, commit yourself to Him and watch the Light of Messiah shine through you.
"Commit whatever you do to Adonai, and your plans will succeed." Prov. 16:3
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3:6
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Psalm 37:5
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinth 15:58
