Alone

No one knows how I feel
even in a crowd, I feel alone
wounded by the memories of war and disasters
I stand all alone
like a prisoner of war kept in solitude and
tortured
i must endure all alone
No one can understand the pain I face each day
I awake
to face this all alone
Rejection, fear, anxiety, plague and torture
me till it destroys all that I know and love
so I end up alone
to face it all by myself
so I stand alone

The Poem was written in 2009, after suffering from PTSD. Being a member of the Chaplain's Corps, I suffered severe PTSD from the experiences I had, and the sights seen.
This poem was written to encourage service members, firefighters, police, and Medical personnel to seek help.
